FS 1123 Firefighter I

This is a comprehensive course designed to introduce the knowledge and skills necessary for fire service personnel to function at a department at the Firefighter II Level NFPA 1001.  There will be some evenings and weekend assignments.  This is a physically demanding course and participants should be prepared to endure numerous classroom presentations and outside, “hands-on” skill sessions.  Successful completion of the course is required to qualify to sit for the Arkansas Firefighter Certification.  Topics covered in the course are general knowledge and skill requirements; fire department communications; fire ground operations; rescue operations, and prevention, preparedness, and maintenance.  There will be written and skill evaluations throughout the course and for certifications.

AFA First Responder or equivalent and fire department sponsorship.
