SONO 1003 Foundations of Sonography

This course offers an introduction to the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Students will become familiar with the role of the sonographer, the history and current applications of sonography in medicine, bio-effects, ergonomics, sonographic terminology, communication, legal and ethical issues, medical emergencies, patient safety and care, as well as professional issues regarding registries, accreditation, and professional organizations related to the field.
