BARB 1311 Barbering I

This course introduces students to the barbering profession by developing the fundamental knowledge, technical skills, professional judgment, work habits, and ethical standards required for success in the field. Instruction emphasizes safety and sanitation, client consultation, haircutting, shaving, grooming techniques, and other foundational barbering services. Upon successful completion, students will have developed the competencies necessary to progress in the barbering curriculum and prepare for state licensure and entry-level employment. (11 credit hours; 420 clock hours)
