Adult Education
The SAU Tech Adult Education Center serves Calhoun, Columbia, Dallas, and Ouachita Counties. The program offers individualized and small group instruction to assist residents with essential skill remediation in reading, writing, and language to help those seeking to pass the General Educational Development Test (GED). The program also offers services to assist individuals who want to enter the workforce by providing job readiness training such as: Career Readiness Remediation, WAGE-(Manufacturing, Health Sciences, Hospitality/Tourism), Integrated Education and Training-Certified Nursing Assistant, OSHA 10, ServSafe, First Aid/CPR, and career development activities (Resume writing, interviewing skills, career interest inventories, career/educational goal setting, and digital/financial literacy)
Additional services include:
- College prep courses.
- Distance Learning.
- English as a Second Language (ESL).
- Literacy-learn to read.
- Supportive Services (transportation, daycare, tuition, and training supplies assistance for individuals who qualify).
