RN 1003 Nursing of Mothers, Infants and Children

This course incorporates maternal and children's health.   The first part of the course will start with an integrated evidence based practice along with curricular concepts that will emphasize skills, knowledge and behaviors needed to care for women of child-bearing age, women's health issues, as well as the holistic care of the family.  The second portion of this course focuses on skills and knowledge related to the care of the newborn through teenage years.  Topics that will be evaluated include normal growth and development, abnormal growth and development and medications that affect the various age groups across the lifespan. This course also includes the nursing process and medication administration in caring for clients in the disease process through out their life-span.
