Career Pathways Initiative
The Career Pathways Initiative program serves as a federal TANF grant program designed specifically for low-income parents who have children under 21 living with them, minor parents between the ages of 18 and 24, and non-custodial parents. All program qualifiers must be a current or former TEA recipient or be receiving Food Stamps, Medicaid or AR Kids or have earnings that fall below the 250% federal poverty level guidelines. Benefits of participating in the program may include Adult Education classes, employability skills classes, certifications, associate degrees, childcare assistance, transportation assistance, career counseling, tuition assistance, books and supplies purchases, and career placement opportunities.
