Program Description
The Associate of General Studies (AGS) degree offers students the flexibility to create a personalized program of study, with the exception of 18 credit hours that must be completed in General Education. The AGS degree may include a mix of traditional transfer courses and professional or technical coursework. Students intending to transfer to a four-year institution should work closely with an academic advisor to ensure their selected courses fulfill general education core requirements and align with the intended transfer degree program. This degree is ideal for individuals seeking a customizable academic path to meet their personal interests, career objectives, or academic goals. Whether aiming to advance or change careers, explore a lifelong interest, or prepare for a bachelor’s degree, the AGS provides a versatile and accessible option.
