FS 2003 Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations
This course is consistent with the competencies recommended by NFPA 1072, as well as supplemental information from OSHA, EPA, DOT, and ADEM. The course is designed for emergency response personnel who may be first on the scene of a hazardous materials emergency. You will learn to recognize the presence of hazardous materials, protect yourself, how to secure the area, and call for trained personnel. The course is also designed for emergency response personnel who may be involved in decon, damming, and diverting of hazardous materials. You will learn to recognize the presence of hazardous materials, protect yourself, the use of proper PPE for decon, the equipment needed for damming, diverting, and decon, and proper cleaning and storage of equipment.
