FS 2203 Instructor II

This is a comprehensive, 1-week course designed to introduce the knowledge and skills necessary for fire service instructors to deliver instruction effectively from a prepared lesson plan, including instructional aids and evaluation instruments; adapt lesson plans to the unique requirements of the students; organize the learning environment so that learning is maximized; and meet the record-keeping requirements. There will be pre-course reading assignments and homework assignments each evening. This is a very compact course and participants should be prepared to endure numerous classroom presentations and labor-intensive skill application. Successful completion of the course is required to qualify to sit for Arkansas Fire Service Instructor-I Certification exam. Topics covered in the course are program management, instructional development, instructional delivery, & evaluation and testing. There will be written and skill evaluation for certification purposes.
