FS 2133 Company Officer I

This is a comprehensive course is designed to introduce the knowledge and skills necessary for fire service personnel to function at the Fire Officer-I level. The knowledge and skills required to function at this level are identified in NFPA 1021-I, Chapter 4. Fire officers at this level are expected to function as supervisory personnel within the department. There will be homework assignments. This is a very comprehensive course and participants should be prepared to endure numerous classroom presentations and "hands-on" skill sessions. Topics covered in the course are general knowledge and skills; human resource management; community and government relations; administration; inspection and investigations; emergency services delivery; & health and safety. There will be written and skill evaluations throughout the course and comprehensive testing for certification purposes.
