Program Description

This program will provide college-level educational opportunities in the areas of Fire Science, Emergency Medical Care and Hazardous Materials. The program is designed with the firefighter and emergency responder in mind.

General Information

  • Developmental coursework may be required in addition to the courses required for this degree.

General Requirements

  • This degree requires successful completion of 60 credit hours.
  • All degree-seeking students are required to take Student Success.
  •  A minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average is required for graduation.
  • Satisfaction of all financial obligations due to the college is required for graduation.

Residency Requirement

In the case where a student has not taken any classes from SAU Tech, completion of the nine (9) hours for Standards School satisfies the SAU Tech residency requirement for the Fire & Emergency Response Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, Fire Science Management Associate of Science (A.S.) degree and embedded certificates of proficiency and technical certificates for these degrees.

AFTA Students Only: In the case where an AFTA student has not taken any classes from SAU Tech, completion of the nine (9) hours for Standards School satisfies the SAU Tech residency requirement for the Fire & Emergency Response Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, Fire Science Management Associate of Science (A.S.) degree and embedded certificates of proficiency and technical certificates for these degrees.
